Churches should be safe places for everyone. However, some people may be more vulnerable than others and we need to pay particular attention to those people.

As part of our commitment to safeguarding, we we have robust systems in place to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from harm.

This responsibility is shared by each member of the community, and policies and procedures, whilst essential, cannot alone protect children and adults who are at risk.

All members of the community need to be aware of potential risks to children, young people and vulnerable adults and know what action to take should they have concerns.

We are committed to following government and Church of England guidelines on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and good working practice, including safe recruitment of workers and we work to a formal Safeguarding Policy.

Safeguarding recording form

This form is to be used when a concern is raised or disclosure is given.

The form should be started by the person raising the concern and then kept up to date by the Parish Safeguarding Officer.

As per the Safeguarding Policy, once the form has been completed, it should be sent via email to the Parish Safeguarding Officer and marked as Private and Confidential. The email address it should be sent to is: safeguarding.officer@stmaryredcliffe.co.uk

Safeguarding Team

Our safeguarding team has been appointed by the church leadership to respond to any safeguarding concerns
