St Mary Redcliffe Children's Church

Children’s Ministry Tree for Treefest

Welcome to St Mary Redcliffe Children’s Ministry.

We’re a church family that welcomes everybody!

Our Children’s Ministry at St Mary Redcliffe is made up of a Toddler Church, Children’s Church and Youth Church; and all three are supported by a wonderful and talented team of leaders and assistants.

Ordinarily, Children’s Church takes place during our 9.30am Eucharist every week (apart from the first Sunday of the month where we have a special All Age Service). We welcome all children from new-borns to 18.  Since the first lockdown in March, we have provided opportunities for online worship and in September we began a programme of blended worship, combining sessions online and in person. Our new initiative “Earth Church”, meets outside during our public worship at 12 noon and takes place most Sundays; this includes Earth Church Together for our younger families, which also happens every Friday during term time at 10am. We are an outside church come rain or shine and we endeavour to use as many recycled and natural resources as possible. For more information about our children’s ministry, please contact me, Becky, on 07934041638 or by email: becky.james@stmaryredcliffe.co.uk. You can also see our videos and discover more about us on the children’s and families section of our website: www.stmaryredcliffe.co.uk.

It is with great pleasure that the Children’s Ministry Team share our tree for Treefest!

The tree itself was planted by St Mary Redcliffe’s Sunday School some years ago. The tree represents each one of us on our faith journeys; many different branches, many different directions, yet firmly rooted in God’s love.

The making of the Children’s Church tree for Treefest is always an exciting time for us – we are renowned for our crafts and our worship through play. This year, we were challenged but not overcome by the restrictions due to Covid-19. One of our families, the Ward family, had an amazing idea which enabled us to all safely take part from our own homes. They said that when they think of our Children’s Church, two things come to mind: firstly, our togetherness, even at the most difficult times, and secondly the things that we do during our activities and worship. This generated their idea of making paper chains – Many of our families, children, parents and leaders took part producing a whole range of paper chains  - all sorts and all sizes, representing who we are: individually unique yet connected, sharing God’s love with the world.

With love and best wishes to you all

Becky, Families and Youth Minister, St Mary Redcliffe Church.
