Trails for Children

We have two trail booklets which anyone can follow as a focus for their visit to the church.

Our trail booklets are for children aged approximately 6-8 (The Church Mouse Trail) and aged 8-12 (The Church Cat’s Trail).  Each booklet costs £1. These booklets are associated with Children's University but you do not have to be a member of the Children’s University to follow the trails.  If you wish to purchase a larger number of booklets for a group please contact our Education Officer

St Mary Redcliffe Church is linked with the West of England Children’s University.  Visitors who have registered either as individuals or through their school can purchase a trail booklet at the steward’s desk.  On completing the trail they will receive a stamp and one hour’s credit in their Passport to Learning.

Children’s University is an international critically acclaimed programme, funded and delivered locally by UWE Bristol through the West of England Children's University.

The programme encourages all children aged 5 to 14 years to try new experiences, develop new interests and acquire new skills through participation in innovative and creative learning activities outside of the school day. These learning activities are designed to raise aspiration, encourage motivation, introduce new life experiences, develop personal skills and progress learning.
